Join us September 19, 2009 for the 20th Annual Fall Conference

DONNA WHYTE IS COMING TO THE 2009 WKA FALL CONFERENCE!

Classroom Management. Learn to foster positive behavior based on respect and self-control. Explore key components of a learning community in which children take responsibility for their behavior. Discover developmentally appropriate ways to prevent and reduce common misbehaviors, including power struggles.

Phonemic Awareness. Examine the key elements of teaching phonemic awareness and their effect on writing and reading achievement. Discover new activities, props, and materials that promote phonemic awareness and utilize children’s natural enjoyment of playing with language.

Balanced Math. Examine the basic components of math that enable children to become “math wizards”. Gain effective techniques for ensuring that all children are practicing and gaining mastery of important math concepts. Facilitate children in becoming problem-solvers and independent thinkers.

Donna Whyte believes that all classrooms can be a place of joy for both the teacher and the students. She has experience as a classroom teacher and has successfully taught kindergarten, first and second grades. As a teacher in multi-grade, looping and inclusion classrooms, she developed many strategies for helping children to reach their full potential.

Donna has presented workshops and seminars all across the country. Her positive attitude, high energy, and her many practical ideas make her presentations exciting to primary grade educators. Her strategies and activities are easy to transfer into classroom practice. She has published several books and 3 CDs.
